Universal Underground installs retaining wall tie-back screws.
A recent retaining wall project in Cambridge involved installing 35 screws under Duke St up to 9m deep to hold a retaining wall up to 5m high. Each anchor had three disc’s and were screwed tight into the earth without pre- drilling. On this project the required design pull our force was 10 ton and the test pull was 15 ton. On completion of each screw installation the drill rig attempted to pull the screw out. The rig (Ditchwitch JT30) has a carriage pull thrust of nearly 15 ton. All screws survived the test.
A house is now built close up to the retaining wall and the gap between filled with foam.
